This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and applications of biotechnology in the pharmaceutical industry. Students will learn about the use of biotechnology in drug discovery and development, including the identification and validation of drug targets, the design and optimization of therapeutic proteins, and the development of biologics. The course will also cover the regulatory requirements and challenges associated with the development and production of biologics.
Upon completion of the course, students will have a thorough understanding of the principles and applications of biotechnology in the pharmaceutical industry. Students will also be prepared to apply this knowledge to the design, development, and production of biologics and to address the regulatory requirements and challenges associated with biopharmaceuticals.
The instructors are industry-experienced in a supportive learning environment. Field-related internships give students real-world experience. Students also receive ongoing job search assistance and career services from AAPS.
